Amir

By providing you with an official appraisal, whether it is for insurance purposes, family or inheritance matters, or simple curiosity, an expert appraisal of your rug can be enlightening. You will be furnished with comprehensive information about your rug such as types of fabrics used, foundation quality, the approximate age, knot count, design name, country of origin and present market value. The first step To produce the official appraisal is examining the fibers used to make your rug, whether it’s primarily wool, silk, or cotton. Then, we examine its foundation and quality of dyes to determine the age of your rug. Lastly, we inspect the fineness of knots and overall rug design to figure out the region or country where your rug was made. To arrange for your rug appraisal please contact Amir at amir@medalliongallery.com.

The Pazyryk rug was found in 1949 in the grave of a Scythian nobleman in Altai Mountains in Kazakhstan. The Pazyryk rug had been frozen in the ice and it was very well preserved.
